According to what i see in the book SOLD my opinion is that the story is man vs. society. The reason is because Lakshmi and the other women there at the brothel are treated as if to be a disgrace. What makes them think that they are any better??

i really agree with you on what you are saying. It is true, do they really think they are any better then them bacuse news flash they arent. They are actually worse then them by putting them through all this. Dont you agree?
